When Ramadan arrived, everyone was very excited. This year, Ela was going to fast for the first time. She woke up very early for suhoor. She was very sleepy, but she ate her meal with her family. After finishing her food, she went back to bed. In the morning, she got ready and went to school. All her classmates were fasting too. During the break, she went to the garden to play volleyball with her friends. After some time, she felt hungry and thirsty. She almost forgot and wanted to drink water, but then she remembered she was fasting. The bell rang, and they went back to class. When the last lesson ended, the bell rang again and school was over. Ela went home. There were two hours left until iftar. She rested for an hour and then did her homework. Thirty minutes before the call to prayer, Ela and her mother set the table together. When the adhan was recited, they broke their fast and ate their meal. After dinner, Ela prayed and thanked God for the food. Before going to bed, she said, “Mommy, please wake me up for suhoor. I want to fast again tomorrow.” She was very happy and proud of herself.
