This is my first day on Mars.
I can’t understand anything. Is it cold here or hot? I don’t know.
How can I find water?
Is there any alien?
I can see Earth in the sky, just a tiny blue dot, but how can I call my mom?
How can I talk to my family?
There is no internet. No signal. Nothing.
But the strangest thing is… my dogs are here.
Yes, my dogs!
They are wearing astronaut clothes.
Why do we even have astronaut suits for dogs?
I don’t know.
But they look cute and confused.
What can I eat?
What can my dogs eat?
We have so many problems.
My spaceship is broken. I can’t go back to Earth.
But at the same time… the engine still works. Maybe, maybe if I fix the controls…
We can fly again.
We can go home.
But first, I need to survive.
I start walking on the red sand with my dogs.
I need food. I need water. I need answers.
I look at the sky again.
Earth is shining like a small light.
I whisper:
“Mom… I’m coming back. Just wait.”
